At another fun, interesting NCTech4Good meeting February 19, discussion about dashboards and their uses led to interesting info about SharePoint and Office 365 (Thanks, Pete), Google Analytics, Skype, Hangout and more. We ended with ideas for sessions for the NCTech4Good Conference June 5-6 in Chapel Hill, NC.

Technology has expanded the possibilities of what we can do — we can use Glass to augment reality. We can video chat with people on the other side of the world. Pictures taken on the surface of Mars can be sent back to Earth in a few hours. There is so much to do, and so much is possible. But, how do we get to that next level to transform ourselves and our communities?
NetSquared Spotlights are a series of interviews focused on the work of our amazing NetSquared Local Organizers around the world. Our local organizers are volunteers dedicated to helping create local opportunities for learning, sharing and using technology to make a difference. Each spotlight we will ask questions that profile our Net2 organizers' approach to community organizing so that others can learn from their experience.
Our presenter, Paula Jones, was at a conference a few hours from our meeting, so we used a Google Hangout. We had 4 in the Hangout -- our meeting room at UNC-TV (in Research Triangle Park, NC), one participant in Michigan, our presenter (Paula) in Concord, NC, and me in Chapel Hill, NC (stuck at home due to last minute car problems). Paula had problems connecting with a failing computer and/or hotel Internet connection. And we occasionally lost UNC-TV, we think because the connection was wireless until switched to hardwired later in the evening. The rest of us were OK wireless.
