Thanks to everyone who attended the June meetup, and for those of you who couldn't make it, here's what you missed:
BarCampNOLA is back for a 6th year, guarantees to be better than ever (or attendees get their money back -- oh wait, it's free!)
This year's theme, as eloquently and creatively presented by John Clarke of Hop and Jaunt, is brought to life by the event's mascot Bearett by Bear. Registration is open, and details on the weekend's festivities can be found at http://barcampnola.co....
MakerFaire in the Making!
Tim Soslow announced that folks from both TurboSquid and Bricolage are in the early stages of planning a MakerFaire in New Orleans (click to learn more about these events). They have a tentative date for Spring 2014, and are looking for those in the maker community that might be interested in being involved. To get involved or to learn more, email the group at email@example.com
A special welcome to all of the new Net2NO members to the group as well as new New Orleanians. We're excited to have you as part of our little community and the best little meetup in NOLA. Please be sure to complete your Meetup bio complete with photo so your new friends can become even more familiar with you (and remember who you are).
As per usual, both TurboSquid and GE Capital announced that they are hiring. If you too are in need of talented people, might we suggest that you attend our next meetup to tell us all about ;).
MARK YOUR CALENDARS - The next Net2NO is schedule for Tuesday, July 2nd at Marlene's Place. The topic is yet to be determined and we are open for suggestions. Please reply to submit your ideas or requests on what you'd like to learn more about and we'll do our damnedest to make it happen. We're also looking for snack and beverage sponsors. Interested in having your business or event promoted to the nearly 1100 members of the tech community? Let us know.
