Please join me in welcoming Bari Samad to the NetSquared team! Bari has joined us to create a framework for nonprofits and businesses to participate in NetSquared Camps and other high-skilled volunteer events. His work will include creating a set of best practices and guidelines that enable the nonprofit sector to accomplish sophisticated digital technology goals by participating in the NetSquared community.

Bari has extensive experience helping nonprofit organizations develop effective digital communications programs, especially with regard to online advocacy and engagement. Before joining the NetSquared team he served as Internet Director at Green For All, a national organization working to build an inclusive green economy strong enough to lift people out of poverty.

Outside of his communication work, Bari has also spent time volunteering on the Pine Ridge Reservation (South Dakota) where he remodeled a home for homeless children and later built a straw-bale home for a Lakota elder family who had raised 24 foster children in their 2-bedroom HUD rental home. He has also been a student of Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed, a form of popular education influenced by the pedagogical works of Paulo Freire.

Bari spends the rest of his time raising his son, Sahir (means magician) who just turned one. He tells me that Sahir has “completely redefined [his] previously held understandings of joy and unconditional love.”

You can connect with Bari here on the NetSquared blog, or through his Linkedin Profile.

Welcome, Bari!
