Later this year, 200 African thought leaders will gather to discuss how to accelerate the building of innovative societies at the Open Innovation Africa Summit. Contribute your opinions on how to best implement solutions and you could get yourself a free ticket to contribute at the event in person.

The Open Innovation Africa Summit, occurring the week of November 29th in Nairobi, Kenya, aims to promote the creation of new innovation services and collaboration models, which align the public and private sector stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem and embeds end-user driven co-creation and open innovation as critical elements to African innovation systems.

As part of the initiative, they've launched an ideation platform to serve as a resource and space for everyone working in Innovation in Africa to connect. This website is about empowering people to innovate and encouraging innovative minds to develop locally relevant solutions for locally relevant challenges.

The site revolves around the four main streams of interest and focus for the summit:

  • Ecosystem for Innovation
  • Emerging Market Business Models
  • Mobile Services Revolution
  • Human Capital - Education for All

What needs to be done to accelerate innovation and entrepreneurship in Africa? What works and what does not? What skills and services are needed to building innovative societies and how can modern technologies be used to speed up this process? The best ideas and contributions shared on the site will be published and debated at the Summit. The top eight contributors on the site will be invited to participate in the Summit in person.
