The 2013 Computerworld Honors Awards

Every year, Computerworld Magazine honors the best and the brightest in IT innovation from around the globe via theirComputerworld Honors Awards. They are looking for entries that show measurable results from technology projects that have used information technology to promote and advance public welfare, benefit society and change the world for the better. They’re looking for nominations of those who use information technology to benefit society. That’s pretty much all us in NetSquared land.

Nominations for the 2013 Computerworld Honors program are being accepted now through Friday, Jan. 25, 2013.

If you know of a great NetSquared project that deserves some recognition, please submit an entry for the Computerworld showcase of innovative projects.

The categories are:

  • Collaboration
  • Economic Development
  • Emerging Technology
  • Health
  • Human Services
  • Innovation
  • Mobile Access
  • Philanthropy
  • Safety & Security
  • Sustainability
  • World-Good

The criteria for projects are:

  • Provides a significant benefit to society in one of the 11 categories.
  • Addresses a social or humanitarian need, either alleviating or resolving it.
  • Is currently in use, and demonstrating measurable results for its target beneficiaries.
  • Develops a new technology, or takes an existing technology and applies it in novel way, to meet a specific social or humanitarian need.
  • Projects nominated must have been completed or significantly expanded in the past two years (since October 2010) to qualify.
  • Nominations must fit at least one of the award categories described above. Note that Computerworld editors reserve the right to shift your project to another category, if suitable.
  • Anyone within or outside an organization may nominate a project for the program.
  • As always, international entries are enthusiastically encouraged.

Winners (which they call laureates) will be recognized publicly at the Computerworld Honors Laureate Ceremony and Awards Gala being held at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington D.C. on June 3, 2013.
