Chain Reaction: Collaboration hits London 17-18 Nov

"None of us on our own can change the world, not governments, not businesses, not charities. We succeed when we work together." That's the premise of Chain Reaction, an event that brings together social leaders, community activists, policy makers, business leaders, young people and people like you from around the globe to share learning and to generate new ideas for social change, locally, nationally and globally.

What's Chain Reaction?

Freeconference.com isn't necessarily free, but it is effective

So last month I spoke about Skype for a VOIP telephony solution for your business. Today I'm going to introduce you to www.freeconference.com. Now, as the title says, FC is not necessarily free - some of their service offerings will cost you - but the expense really is negligible when compared to functionality and when considered in light of more and more employees working remotely. As well, what if you're getting advice from board members who live on the other side of the state or who just never have the time to meet? Or you want to speak with someone in another country about how they manage their supply chain for goods very similiar to you own? Regardless, I think freeconference.com is worth a look-see.

Notes from the International Conference of Community Psychology

Greetings from the Lisbon Poets Hostel in Portugal. I will make this post quick, since I´m terribly confused by the punctuation on this keyboard, and should probably rest before my presentation tomorrow, but I want to share my experiences today, while they´re still fresh in my mind.

Just finished volunteering. In time to hear the opening speaker. Now we get to hear a 2 minute blurb from each of the featured non profits. The first one was about "micro" volunteering. Definitely want to check that one out.

Hi from Global Kids, glad to be here

I am excited to be at the NetSquared conference alongside several other non-profits actively using virtual worlds in their work. Global Kids ( http://olp.globalkids.org ) have a number of interesting virtual world and transmedia projects that I look forward to presenting to folks on Wednesday, along with my colleagues. And I can't want to hear about the other mash-up projects being proposed by others and meet other non-profit and tech industry folks interested in the social media space.

Now it's after midnight and I should get some rest before tomorrow's activities begin.
