Dan Saffer is the Senior Interaction Designer at Adaptive Path, a widely respected San Francisco web design firm. The company's portfolio includes design work for Creative Commons, the United Nations ReliefWeb and Blogger.com.

I caught up with Dan in the halls of the SXSW conference and asked about the changing landscape of web design and community interaction.

Craig Newmark is the founder of Craig's List (spelled craigslist), a site that provides free classified ads for people in more than 200 cities around the world. Started in 1995, it is now one of the most visited sites on the internet.

Craigslist includes notices for public events and only charges a fee for job and real estate listings in some large cities. The organization and Craig in particular are notable for both their groundbreaking work in making Web 2.0 usable for everyday purposes and their support of non profit organizations.

I have looked at a bunch of nonprofit websites which currently use RSS feeds. Many of these sites do not have much explanation about the RSS feed.

For example, the link says subscribe to RSS feed. What is the content of the RSS feed?

It helps to let the readers and users of your website know what the RSS feed is about.

I have also noticed alot of websites include information about RSS. There is information about what it is and how to subscribe. This is a great thing to add since many readers and users are not familiar with RSS.
