Should You Use Couchsurfing.com To Make Small-NPO Business Travel Less Costly?

I have returned from the Millennials Changing America Tour and aside from being a bit tired from it all and the suffering of a minor bronchial infection, I am feeling good about the whole ordeal. When planning the trip, which took me to over 30 cities across the country, I thought that it would be interesting to set up the majority of my housing in each city by way of Couchsurfing so that I could save money and spend time meeting people in my downtime as well as when talking with people on the road.

Your NetSquared Dollars at Work... in Kenya

Okay, time for an update to let you know what we've been doing at Ushahidi with the winnings from the NetSquared Challenge.

Me and Ory at Barcamp Nairobi

Ory and I are madly dashing around Kenya, meeting with local NGOs and users to determine what we need to build into Ushahidi's Engine (version 2). We helped sponsor the local Barcamp Nairobi, which was a huge hit and brought us even more developers.

so, we haven't even started yet and we're already getting some excellent feedback! thanks to the N2Y3 exposure, a kid from bangalore (!) who's been following the conference (a few time zones ahead...) has sent us his support, not just in tech terms but also for volunteering activities on the ground and feeding us local info.

Mashup and Site Consultation Needed for Ashoka Geotourism Challenge Entry

Since 2004 I have blogged daily for the disability community about Universal Design and travel at www.RollingRains.com. A recent spike in interest motivated me to create a social networking site as an innovation incubator. Projects like My Green Map offer even more potential for our work in Inclusive Tourism. Now we have an emerging need for a site to serve a project being considered for funding by Echoing Green and listed in Ashoka's Changemakers Geotourism Challenge. The site would serve as a hub for three international Centers of Excellence in Inclusive Tourism.

I made it to Swaziland!

Jennifer Sly is the Founder of YouthAssets, a Featured Project at the NetSquared Conference.

Well, I made it Swaziland. After a short ride on a SMALL place - they take ALL of your luggage, purses, and bags because there is no room for anything in your seat! It was a quick ride - only 40 minutes - and I was sitting to a very nice gentleman who was travelling to Swaziland for the first time from Senegal. He was attending a trade conference at the same location as my OSISA conference so maybe I will see him again.
