The Changeblogger Network Picks Up Steam

First of all, I just want to note how exciting it is that Amy Sample Ward has come on board as the new Net2 Community Builder. As you all know, Britt has done an amazing job of bringing some fantastic people around Net2's vision, she is loved and appreciated, and everyone is excited to see her stay involved with the Net2 community. At the same time, we're psyched to be checking out the great things that Amy is going to bring our way. Here's to the future.

Changeblogging!

To paraphrase Britt Bravo, Changebloggers are people who are using online resources to raise awareness, build community and facilitate everyone's taking action to make the world a better place. Qui Diaz originally posted the 3 questions that set off the Changeblogging meme and we've reposted them below with our responses - they look easy to answer, don't they?

Well, maybe it's that we're a brother and sister writing this blog. But it took us a long time to formulate a response. I wanted very badly to be able to write "I care about human rights, I write a blog about human rights, here are three ways you can make a difference and support - you guessed it - human rights."

Seeking and sharing examples of youth and teen blogging projects

At my blog, studio 501c, I asked readers to point me toward examples of nonprofits that have engaged young people in blogging. I also asked for examples of safety guidelines the nonprofits used as a result. I started this research, on behalf of a friend who works for a youth-engaging nonprofit, by emailing Britt Bravo, Beth Kanter, and Marshall Kirkpatrick, all of whom I want to be like when I grow up (and all of whom I finally met face-to-face at Blogher in Chicago this past summer). I'm grateful to them for getting the ball rolling.

Vote for Britt & NetSquared!

I found Britt's interview with Rosalyn Lemieux to be truly informative, and so submitted it to NewsTrust. If y’all could go over there and rate the story, I think it will be good for Britt & Netsquared. (I don’t work for Net2 or anything, but this community’s been very good to me – and Britt’s extraordinary – so if there’s anything we can do to raise their profiles, I think we should try to help). Never heard of NewsTrust? I posted about it here.
