Britt Bravo is on a much-deserved vacation, so I'm stepping in for her to keep news and information about the social change web coming your way!
NTEN and Beth Kanter are leading the nonprofit technology community in the We Are Media Project: The Social Media Starter Kit for Nonprofits. The community, by working wikily, is building a toolkit and instructional guides about the use of social media in helping nonprofits distribute their stories.
Big congratulations to Marnie Webb, TechSoup's Co-CEO, who was awarded The 2008 NTEN Award today at the Nonprofit Technology Conference in New Orleans. You can leave her a congratulatory message in the comments of this post, or on her blog, ext337.
Our own NpTech Tag Summary blogger, Beth Kanter, along with Michele Martin, came in first
place for global causes in America's Giving Challenge. The Challenge was sponsored by the Case Foundation.
The 8 individual online fundraisers who inspired the most people to donate, received $50,000 for their charity, in addition to the money they raised during the Challenge.
Beth and Michele raised $41,673 and received 1,650 donations for the Sharing Foundation.
You can read through Beth's online diary of the process on Beth's Blog.

You may know her as the author of the NpTech Tag Sumary, but the Connecting Up Conference calls Beth Kanter, "the undisputed ‘queen’ of the US Not for Profit technology scene." La Solidaridad describes her as, "a premiere nonprofit technology consultant," and Podnosh Blog has bestowed her with the title of, "queen of online fundraising."
Appropriately, Beth is celebrating her 51st birthday by participating in the Case Foundation's Giving Challenge and raising money for the Sharing Foundation.
Find out more about how she is celebrating her b-day plans on her blog post: Beth's 51st Birthday Challenge: Can I get 51 people to donate $10 to the Sharing Foundation for my birthday? (It's on Jan. 11th).
