Recent innovations in science and technology, especially web 2.0 applications and mobile technologies, have provided human rights advocates, journalists, scientists and people with new tools to expose war crimes and other serious violations of human rights and disseminate this information in real time throughout the world and provide people with new ways of documenting mass violence and attitudes toward peace, justice, and social reconstruction in conflict zones.
IPEACE project is a safe Web based platform and a mobile application designed to allow users to report war crimes, violence and human rights abuse in real-time in the democratic republic of Congo.
Ipeace web and mobile application will include ability to collect and report from SMS, web, videos, audio, text, pictures, etc.
The information can be directly publish in website and send to partners organizations as Media organizations around the world and Human rights organizations.
Violence and brutal human rights abuses continue to increase in the democratic republic of Congo, numerous extrajudicial executions, killings of civilians, including massacres, rape continues to be used as an instrument of war, and women and girls are left without protection. The scourge of violence against people in the Congo will only end if we can report violence and identified criminals finally to be punished.
Only in 2010, many human rights activists have been killed, among which Floribert Chabeya, a world respected Human rights activist. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floribert_Chebeya
Many Congolese journalists are victims of assassination, and according to Reporters Without Borders, which this year is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its creation, and continues its work of monitoring, analysing and denouncing press freedom violations and injustice, censorship and repression has noted that Congo is one of the dangerous country where assassination of journalist and reporting represent a high risk.
In regards, to this situation we need to provide human rights activist, journalist a tool that will enable them to report without risk and in safe manner. Recent innovations in science and technology, especially mobile technologies, have provided human rights advocates, journalists, and scientists with new tools to expose war crimes and other serious violations of human rights and disseminate this information in real time throughout the world, Using mobile technology, Ipeace as, a safe tool to expose human rights violations is particularly appropriate for protecting journalist, human rights activist, and scientist in country as the democratic republic of Congo, where reporting is very dangerous and journalist and witness are often killed and media are under control of government and to spread the information in real time through the world.
Ipeace will enable to report the information in safe manner and to avoid the control of media and will enable human rights, journalist with limited tool to become increasingly connected via mobile technology and can expose human rights violations and war crimes in real time through the world.
Ipeace project will transform the way to report, to protect journalist and the way the world understands, and responds to emerging conflict crises.

Dear friends,
It's great to see you back again, and to watch your closing pitch video. I would be really interested to hear what you have been doing since we met at the last netsquared conference, and what progress you have made towards your Ipeace goals. Perhaps you could partner up with Congo Incident Report Tool and Interactive Radio for Justice, which are both working in DRC.
I have added your project to my favorites on Netsquared. Can you also support Kabissa's project and give your feedback? We are a network connecting people and organizations for Africa - you are very welcome to also join Kabissa, an online platform where people and organizations working in Africa can showcase themselves and connect with each other for peer learning and information sharing.
Warm regards,
Tobias
