Micki Krimmel is the Director of Internet Outreach at Participant Productions, a film company with a mission to affect social change. She is currently leading the company in building an online activist community at www.participate.net where film-lovers and activists can come together to make a difference.
Micki has a long history in the film industry, and the internet and has developed a passion for where they intersect. She graduated from Boston University's film school in 1999 and went on to work on countless indie short films and major studio movies. She was once lucky enough to sit next to Clint Eastwood as the Boston Symphony Orchestra performed and recorded the score for Mystic River.
Micki has been blogging and photoblogging since 2001. She is nearing her one year anniversary as a contributor to Worldchanging.com, where she writes about global film, new tools for production and distribution and the democratization of the filmmaking process. She also contributed to the upcoming book, WorldChanging: A User's Guide for the 21st Century.
