Here at NetSquared, it's our goal to encourage people to share their projects with the broader community, and to provide these projects with hands on help and concrete resources.

Every year we sponsor our own challenge in order to facilitate this goal, and in addition, we work with a variety of partners to create more opportunities for great projects to be recognized.

NetSquared Mashup Challenge

Introduction:
The NetSquared Mashup Challenge was created to bring together a unique mix of people from the public and private sectors to develop and release Mashups designed to provide deeper insight into the social issues affecting communities around the globe.

Phase I:
Twenty-one mashups were selected by the NetSquared Community as the N2Y3 Featured Projects. Representatives from these 21 projects have been invited to the NetSquared Conference in May 2008.

First Place ($25,000):

Second Place ($15,000):
KnowMore.org Firefox Extension - Get Alerts of Corporate Abuses When You Visit Company/Brand/Product Websites

Third Place ($10,000):
A Mashup of 29+ Social Action Platforms -- Social Actions

All 21 Featured Projects walked away with something! Each of the 18 additional Projects were awarded an equal share of the remaining prize money. Congratulations!

DonateNow Mashup Challenge

Introduction:
How would you mashup the Network for Good donation processing service with other services to make it easier for nonprofits to raise money online? We’re working with Network for Good, the Case Foundation, and the NetSquared community to enhance the online donation process.

Eligibility:

• Applicants must integrate the Network for Good donation API
• International participants are eligible for the cash prize, but they must donate the Network for Good API to a US-based organization
  
• Employees of Network for Good, the Case Foundation, NetSquared, or their immediate families are ineligible for this challenge

Yahoo! Green Award

Introduction:
Yahoo! is committed to empowering our communities to make a difference - specifically in the environment and is looking for innovative “green mashups” that will inspire people to use social technology to help the environment.
