A new trend is emerging. Not just innovation, not just social, but both and a lot more, melted in a million different ideas, techniques, methods and initiatives, driven by individuals, movements and organizations. Are you part of it, or willing to be?
This unconference brings together those interested in the field of social innovation in order to discuss the meaning, ideas and initiatives that are the driving force for social innovation.
This is the first BarCamp of its kind in Paris that focuses on social innovation. Its goal is to gather practitioners, researchers and those interested in the relatively recent and explosive trend named social innovation. This event is also open to European and international social innovation networks (and other interested groups). It will take place in French and English depending on the needs of participants.
Social innovation refers to technological, organizational or economic innovation which is applied to a given social issue or any issue related to people or the way society operates or to the way it could be improved. Any initiative which questions or examines existing models which relate to the way we interact, communicate or support each other could be deemed as social innovation. However, giving a precise definition as to what the term really means already limits both its scope and potential. This Social Innovation Barcamp offers an opportunity to share your thoughts on its definition and reveal its true potential!
This event also provides an opportunity to better understand social innovation-related initiatives, methodologies, best practices and experiences. For example, we potentially envisage a number of sessions around the following topics:
Come create, share and harness the possibilities for change through social innovation!
You can follow the Paris Campfire on Facebook or Twitter. Whether you're going to the Paris Campfire in person, online, or both, use the following tag to follow along or when writing about the event: #SocInnovBCParis.
