We've launched the N2Y4 Reflection Forum!

The "a-ha" moments and open questions from the N2Y4 Conference are aggregated and shared in the N2Y4 Reflection Forum to keep the conversations going. You can comment on and vote for different ideas and questions, and you can even add your own ideas.

Building online community: Behind the scenes at NetSquared

As part of the NetSquared remote conference, I'm going to be hosting an online chat conversation on "Building online community: Behind the scenes at NetSquared". Since Social Signal helped to develop the strategy for the NetSquared site, and undertook the Drupal set-up and configuration work on both NetSquared and Net2Learn, we periodically get questions from people who want to know why we set up a certain feature in a particular way, or how we were able to get a page to work a certain way in Drupal. This session is a chance to answer some of those questions in a more structured setting.

I'm open to talking about whatever interests the folks who show up online on the 30th, but in case you're trying to figure out whether the session will be useful to you, here are some of the things we could talk about:

  • Setting goals & developing requirements for a user-driven site
  • Iterative development & user participation
  • Drupal tricks: which modules we used and why
  • Using RSS & aggregation to create content
  • Blogs vs forums: how to choose

If there are other topics you'd like to cover, feel free to suggest them by commenting on this blog post. Or just show up in the chat room on the 30th!

That's a brilliant

That's a brilliant initiative, a chat community online can always provide new ideas and new insights. The informations directly from the source are always worth the effort.

Topics and Remote Conference

Ideas for Topics

  1. Explain Net2learn in more detail. What are the goals? What content from Net2 is displayed on Net2learn?
  2. RSS feeds on blogs - why should blogs have an rss feed

Remote Conference

Where is the online chat going to be held? (for this topic and others)

Online chat

The Remote conference says it has a chat box but maybe it isn't activated yet, otherwise it's going to be blocking out macs because I think I have both the right browsers. Will there be IRC channels or other options as backups? I'm really looking forward to following this remotely!
