Every month I bring you a roundup of free technology training events that will help nonprofit staffers like you build their skills. But maybe you're skeptical -- "how can a free event organized by a volunteer be any good?" That's why TechSoup invests in developing the best practices of our NetSquared network. In partnership with NTEN we brought together 50 volunteers to attend the 17NTC conference for dedicated workshops that will prepare them to be nonprofit technology champions.
The workshops topics included:
Diversity -- how to make sure the organizing team, presenters, attendees, content etc. is inclusive and reflective of the community.
Troubleshooting online and in-person -- pivoting conversations, interrupting, encouraging conversation, covering if the presenter doesn't show, etc.
Event formats -- (ex. lecture, panel, world cafe, speed dating, etc.) and how keep them effective and manageable.
Office 365 -- how nonprofits can take leverage Microsoft's donated suite of tools to modernize their nonprofit and embrace the cloud.
So don't be nervous - we're ready to create amazing tech training and networking events in your community!
This roundup of face-to-face nonprofit tech events includes meetups from NetSquared, NTEN's Tech Clubs and HandsOn Tech. If you're holding monthly events gathering the #nptech community let me know and I'll include you in the next community calendar, or apply today to start your own NetSquared group.
