During the 2007 Clinton Global Initiative, YouTube announced The YouTube Nonprofit Program as a way to make it even easier for people to find, watch and engage with nonprofit video content on the site. YouTube’s 2007/2008 Clinton Global Initiative commitment enables US-based nonprofit organizations with 501©(3) status, that register for the program, to receive a free nonprofit specific YouTube channel where they can upload footage of their work, public service announcements, calls to action and more. The channel also allows them to collect donations with no processing costs using Google Checkout for Nonprofits. YouTube’s global platform enables nonprofits to deliver their message, showcase their impact and needs, and encourage supporters to take action.

Maryrose Dunton is the head of User Experience and a founding member of the YouTube Product team. After joining YouTube in October 2005, Maryrose built the Product and User Experience teams from the ground up focusing on creating and leading user-centric and innovative product solutions across all YouTube platforms. Maryrose has a lifetime passion for technology and social responsibility, and is responsible for bringing a multitude of nonprofits to YouTube and teaching them how to reach a broader audience through video. Prior to joining YouTube, Maryrose worked for PayPal heading up the Product Planning team. Maryrose received a BA in English and Art History from San Jose State University.
