This weekend, BarCamp Guayaquil will attract a huge crowd of people interested in sharing ideas, collaborating, and learning in Ecuador.   There has been a great deal of excitement and press already - I wish I could be in Guayaquil to participate!

There are (3) goals for BarCamp Guayaquil:

1.   To make BarCamp Guayaquil the place where people can share and discuss ideas, learn about new technology initiatives and find out how to use effectively available web tools and services.
2. To foster the local development of technology related initiatives to provide new models that inspire bottom-up innovation across Ecuador.  
3. To provide technology companies with opportunities to engage web developers and netizens from around Ecuador.  

There has been a great deal of blog and press coverage already.   For example, Eduardo Bejar, the BarCamp lead in Ecuador and the Net Tuesday Guayaquil organizer, was interviewed here (in Spanish).
