Join us for the San Francisco Net Tuesday on September 9 featuring
Involver: How Nonprofits Can Create Video Campaigns for Social Networks. Looking forward to seeing you there!
Periodically we here at TechSoup like to share what we're reading. The latest blog gem that I've added to my feed reader is Cause Global, a blog which covers social media for social change and the people involved in using technology tools to make the world a better place.
We can empower others to do more through technology.
The folks at Sustainable Table, the creators of the Eat Well Guide and the Green Fork Blog, have put out a new book, Cultivating the Web: High Tech Tools for the Sustainable Food Movement.
The printed book will debut at Slow Food Nation this weekend in San Francisco, but you can download it for free from the Eat Well Guide site now.
Hi everyone
Please feel free to come by at BeerCamp Copenhagen 2008: http://beercamp.pbwiki.com/
Regards,
Allan
Also, please take a moment to appreciate how happy Wendy and the Green Map team looks in this picture. Looks like a real positive energy vibe zone.
I talk to Wendy Brawer and Thomas Turnbull about the origins of Green Map System (greenmap.org) and what they to accomplish when they launch the Open Green Map (opengreenmap.org) in the coming months.
The next Net Tuesday San Francisco on September 9th will feature Nikki Serapio, the Director of Community Marketing for Involver. Involver facilitates companies and organizations building, launching, promoting, managing and monitoring video campaigns on social networks.
Chirag Shah, Special Projects Manager at Kiva.org, will also be on hand to talk about Kiva's experience using Involver.
If you don't live in the Bay Area, an audio recording of the speakers will be available on the NetSquared Podcast (thanks to David Collin) and a video will be posted on the NetSquared Blip TV Channel (thanks to Ross Chapman) after the event.
If you do live in the Bay Area, RSVP on Meetup, Facebook or Upcoming!
Just a quick reminder to email the URL of your Net2ThinkTank post to me at bbravo@techsoup.org by tomorrow, August 27th, at 5 PM PT ( I extended the deadline from Noon).
This month's Net2ThinkTank question is:
How Can Nonprofits Use Flickr?
You can see the original post with further directions for how to participate at, Join the Net2ThinkTank: How Can Nonprofits Use Flickr?
Two of the 21 Net Tuesdays are meeting this week on Tuesday, August 26:

Just a heads up that NetSquared.org will be down tomorrow, Tuesday, August 26th from 7-8 AM PT for maintenance.

Sending out yet another email to your members can be painful sometimes when you really want to say the same thing you've already tried to tell them countless times. We've all been there, either on the sending or receiving end of those messages. But, making something fun that delivers the message means you get to make something new and interesting, your members get to enjoy what you've created and the message is in there without any more of the boring blah blah blah. But, how do you do that?
