Communities will learn about and care for their local environment and plan for a sustainable future. They will "thinkÂ globallyÂ and actÂ locally"

What information will people interact with to make this change?:

A wealth of natural resource information integrated with local data and knowledge, presented to meet their specific area of interest or community requirements.

What else have you done in this Cause Area?:

CMN has over 60 customized web mapping applications tailored to meetÂ theÂ needs of many communities of interest. These applications are address national bio-regional and specific community needs. CMN hosts the first (2005) and possibly still the only fully interactive GIS based "Green Map" instanceÂ http://www.shim.bc.ca/atlases/greenmap/Index.cfm

Since 2000, CMN has been building a diverseÂ collaborationÂ with stewardship organizations with other ENGOs and with local governments to help change the way we care for our local environments. CMN believes freely sharing data aboutÂ theÂ "commons" is a critical step in avoiding the "tragedy ofÂ theÂ commons"
