Key issues, changes and trends
The emphasis moving away from stuff to people and moving toward communities, presents an opportunity to use technology in transformative ways.
There are seven different sectors: philanthropists, international NGO, large American nonprofit presence, folks from infratech companies (infrastructure), web services, digerati, large representation from helper community (NTAPS) (and NTen)
Successful tools and techniques
Using social networking and human resources for change and to make a difference.
Premise quite simple: human resources have been mobilized to fight AIDS and world hunger -- almost as nuts as a notion that a handful of people could create an online equivalent to Encyclopedia Britannica (Wikipedia)
Keys to success
Adaptation of technological tools for activism, on the cusp of something transformative.
Imagining a difference and making it so, using tools to follow through. Encourage you to think about specific actions and hold toes to fire to make good on that.

Recommendations for individuals and organizations
Using Web 2.0 tools for activism.
Actions for Net2 Community
Nonprofits keeping files on index cards and putting them on databases, 350 attendees and 35,000 index cards. At any point when you identify an action item (you to do, someone else to do), write it down and stick it on a bulletin board
We'll collate (the making-good part is up to you)
